    Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2003

Thanks 58sniper, Previously I moved accounts to the new server using the move mailbox wizard. I then found this guide and attempted to synch the public folders but by that time I was getting all kinds of problems. Specifically Outlook clients in my remote office, each time they opened outlook...

    Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2003

Hi all, I have a new 2003 exchange server that I will be migrating all of my email accounts to from the old server (also Exchange 2003). Am I correct that by following these instructions: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931 Am I correct in thinking that I should be able to cleanly move all...

Network probs after moving accounts to new server

I think the problem is that users in office B cannot synchronise the offline address book as I never moved that across to the new email server. I'm now following this article to move all public and system folders to the new server. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931 However I cannot get...

    VPN keeps going down

Hi all, I have 2 offices, A & B. Office A is the busier of the offices and also contains the company exchange server. Both offices are linked via a VPN between two Firewall Fireboxes. Last week I moved user accounts to a new email server and also upgraded the company Anti Virus software...

Network probs after moving accounts to new server

Hi all, First off I'm not 100% if this is what's causing my network problems but I'd appreciate any input. I moved accounts from my old 2003 exchange server to my new exchange 03 server using the move mailbox wizard. All accounts moved over just fine and all outlook clients can access the...

    New Exchange server

Hi all, I currently have a Windows 2003 Exchange server but have purchased a new server as the current hardware is fairly old. Does anyone have any links or advice to the correct steps for migrating exchange 2003 from one server to the other. I can't afford much downtime therefore want to...

Exchange backups failing due to corrupt emails

Thanks for the response. I've tried that already but there are so many emails that have no subject. (the next thing on my list is reducing users mailbox sizes the previous IT manager has let everyone have unlimited space.)

Exchange backups failing due to corrupt emails

Hi all, I backup my exchange server using Veritas Backup Exec 10 but the job is failing during the verification phase as its flagging corrupt messages in 3 users mailboxes. I've experienced this in the past and have overcome the problem by simply going to the mailbox and removing the corrupt...

Removing an smtp address from the default policy

Thanks for the response. I set a rebuild prior to my original post and unfortunately it had no effect. Because I originally added this secondary email address to the defauly policy I'm reluctant to go and delete the policy as it still contains the primary email address for all my users. As I...

Removing an smtp address from the default policy

I added a secondary domain email address to the default policy in exchange system manager and mistakenly added this secondary address to all users on my domain, which I didn't want to do. I've since deleted the secondary address but if I go to my address book and click properties for each...

    Sending mail from different address

I have a user who currently has an email account for the company domain on our exchange 2003 server. However he needs to be able to send email to certain clients from a different email address. But this different email address is for a separate domain address that we have just purchased. For...

    Specific email redelivers itself

I am running windows 2003 exchange as my email server. We also use an email/web filtering software called surfcontrol. This sits at the server and using rules hold's certain emails (i.e. mainly spam). We have a size rule where if an email is over 8mb, surfcontrol holds onto it until myself or...

    Can't upload files over 1MB

I administer our intranet via frontpage. The intranet is hosted on a Windows 2000 Server on our network using IIS 5. About 3 months ago my colleague installed all the latest MS updates (namely SP4) as we were adding an HR software plugin so that employees could book vacation time via the...

    Terminal Services

Thanks for the reply ShackDaddy. I totally agree with focusing on the servers config rather than the domain level policies but my Terminal Server is a 2000 Server and not 2003, there is no Terminal Services folder in the 2000 group policy editor. Any suggestions? Thanks Ross.

    Terminal Services

I have a W2K Server running terminal services that I'm using to connect to via Remote Desktop on Windows XP clients. As administrator I am able to shadow each clients terminal server session by deselecting the "require users permission" option for their domain (2003 Domain) user account in...

New user doesn't get an e-mail address for some reason.

You're problem is identical to mine, especially where you said: "Many of the "solutions" say to either login to the account via the client machine and Outlook, or to send them an e-mail. I have tried this repeatedly, and it doesn't work for us. Using Outlook on the machine just says that the...

New user doesn't get an e-mail address for some reason.

I downloaded the SP1, read the release notes and before installing it decided that I'm holding off for a weekend instead. (Its like Russian Roulette). For the time being all of my users are active and not experiencing any problems, I don't have to create an additonal 18 accounts until the end...

New user doesn't get an e-mail address for some reason.

I just found a post advising to download and install Service Pack 1 for exchange 2003 as this has been known to fix this problem. Has anyone tried this or know of any problems that have occured from this service pack? I'm reluctant to install the service pack as in my experience I have given...

New user doesn't get an e-mail address for some reason.

esmithbda, I just logged on so that I could post about the exact same problem. I had tried everything that you seem to have after reading various ng's and kb articles. Anyone got any suggestions?

    Etrust 7 Subnet question

When my remote users connect to the network remotely they cannot access the Internet. Even if they could it would defeat the purpose of having an admin server as I would not be able to view what signatures each remote user had installed on the laptop.
