    I can see the directory under inetpub: wwwroote\mailroot\badmail, Drop, Pickup etc If i want to check that the SMTP is working how is this done - can i write a text file (test.txt for eg) and copy into pickup directory. If so what should the .txt file contain i.e to=xyz@company.com etc Thanks

    Thanks for the answer but i realised a short while ago that is was a straight forward XML file which i can import into ASP.NET using xmlreader and work with from their. (for some reason I assumed it was really difficult without really looking at the link)!

    We dont specifically run DHCP or DNS - I have not setup any of these up manually so assume they are not being used. This is just a plain server used to hold all our company files.

    DAMN, restarting the service in windows > administrative tools > services fixed all problems INCLUDING; Overwritable media (ALL settings were 100% set for overwrite and it still never worked before restart of service) Constant queing of jobs !!!!!!!!!!
