I have been to the site and discovered that their carrier (dial tone provider) is collecting certain DTMF digits and anaylyzing them for an unknown purpose, perhaps to access a line feature. This is interrupting the transmission of these digits in a consistent manner, thus causing the Nortar to...
I have run into a problem where if the caller visits their mailbox to listen to messages from a remote telephone,
when they dial ** during their mailbox announcement, it hangs up.
I have run thru all the settings in the operations manual, and nothing seems to address this.
UCX Guy:
I have an i2007 set that got upgraded to the Avaya firmware when I installed the latest SYS patch on my BCM50.
I am a diehard Nortel Fan and am not pleased with the change. Do you know of a way I can downgrade the firmware
in the i2007 so it will once again display Nortel? And I...
I found the bulletin.
It seems not all situations of using this triple power supply enclosure are a hazard. Here is the core of the bulletin:
Background:
Nortel would like to inform its customers that the BCM50 base system products and the BCM50 Expansion are now shipping with a different...
Official Items and part numbers straight from Nortel:
BCM50 Power Supply Enclosure NT9T4002E6 N0108848
(Supports 3 120W BCM50 Power Supplies - PEC NT9T6026E5) (Larger)
BCM50 Power Supply Enclosure - Version 2 NT9T4024E6 N0156106
(Supports 3 90W BCM50 Power Supplies - PEC NT9T6027E5) (Smaller)...
David,
Thanks for your reply.
Everything I have read here at Tek-Tips has indicated that the Avaya files do not work.
My experience parallels this.
I have a BCM50 1.0 on the way that may have a bad hard drive.
I am worried as I do not have access to a drive image for that version.
It...
I would be interested in knowing if anyone has successfully used the BCM50 Images posted on Avata's website,
including the exact version of Acronis True Image they used with these files.
I tried unsuccessfully to restore to an Intel SSD using these files. (See my original post in this thread...
Curlycord,
I misunderstood some of your remarks, and I thank you for them.
The link you provided was for the same document I am referring to in my first post in this thread.
I feel the Intel SSD drive should work,
based on the comments of two different posts I had already read, but are in the...
Curlycord,
I have read all the threads about BCM SSD on here.
When you say unsupported to the drive I selected (assumed from your shorthand),
I have to say I chose the drive for two reasons:
1) It is an identical model (except that it is 40GB) to a drive that already has been reported to work...
I need someone with experience downloading the image files from Avaya's web site and imaging a replacement drive with these files. I do not have access to this site, so I had a support engineer download the files for me.
I have read the Avaya BCM50 and BCM450 Imaging Tool — User Guide...
I apologize for the delay.
It took me awhile to find a working link for the i2004 patch.
Navigate to:

Click on:

This should get your older set going!
A tip of the hat to Mr. Trout!
I have been working with a BCM50 in my Lab for a few weeks now.
The Message Waiting Indicator on the Internal Analog Station Ports strikes me as being rather quirky when using "Lamp" for MWI under
Capabilities/ATA settings. While I have had no issues with an ASM8+
or a GASM with this...
I have dissected two BCM50 Expansion Modules.
The NOISY Fans are marked like this:
JMC (Large Letters)
8920 (Stamped in middle)
4010-12 HBHA DC12V~0.15A
P/N:402711-4
800-580-6688 (Vendor's Phone)

Made in China
Now we know who manufactured these nasty little Devils.
And now...
You are most likely having firmware issues with the i2004 sets. Some of your sets have been upgraded, and others not.
There was a hack online a few years back that was used to upgrade old Phase 1 sets to work with the newer BCM units.
The package included the SolarWinds FTP server software, a...
All of the "Global" Media Bay Modules I have seen have a large sticker on top of the module that specifically states that the power MUST be shut off prior to removing or installing these modules. It would be a good idea to use that same practice for all Media Bay Modules.
Remember to disable...
I don't believe it really matters whether you are talking about the BCM50 itself or the Expansion unit.
It's likely a matter of WHEN the unit was manufactured.
Nortel likely used several different Asian vendors to provide those tiny fans over the years.
I am, unfortunately, a recipient of one...
I guess I'll put my two cents in as well.
What I am about to tell you is not yet tested by me, so consider that in your decision.
I have spoken to several people on the topic, and the response I got on the topic is as follows:
Your flash media may need to be X133, not the newer, faster type...
Hmm... Interesting. It sounds like digits are being lost when dialing LD.
Did your installer program any routing on your system?
There were two ways of getting the FAX machine to call out on the various Norstars I installed over the years.
One was to have the FAX machine dial 9 (assuming this...
