Connecting To MySQL Databases
I'm using the components "DAC for MySQL" and it works very nice. You don't need ODBC or BDE installed. You can use the data base componets as with BDE-applications.- ZamBody

Does DBE really save in permanent storage?
As far as I remember, everything goes to the tables, even if I run from the IDE, with one exeption. If I don't call post() or goes to an other record, the last change is lost. TCanvas, clear?
Use FloodFill with a border color not used in the current canvas, for instance: Form1->Canvas->FloodFill(1,1,0x00fefefe,fsBorder); Where "fefefe" is the limiting, non exixting color in GBR notation.- ZamBody
