I just did it on a Windows 2000 machine with VFP 6.0:
Instance 1:
open database foo shared
open database foo exclusive
In instance 2:
open database foo
And I got a message "file access is denied".
There's something going on with your computer. It's not a Win2K/Foxpro problem...
Do you have more than one copy of "mydata.dbc"? If so, the 2nd instance of VFP may be opening a different copy of the dbc.

Do you have duplicate field names in the first row?
Is the spread sheet really in Microsoft Excel 97 format or some other?

Basically, XML is a schema for describing data and data structures. Foxpro's implementation is mainly involved with converting a cursor or table to XML and converting an XML file into a cursor.
As for fields on a form, they must be bound to table fields or memory variables. They don't connect...
You might want to check out the progress of the WINE folks. They're getting pretty close to getting VFP working with WINE under Linux.
I'm working with WINE on my Red Hat Linux 8.0 machine. I'll be posting my progress on the linux page on my site. Next step, running Foxpro for Windows 2.6...
This is why I wish M$ hadn't muddied the waters by dumping the easy installation wizard and replaced it with "install shield light", which is a huge pain to figure out and is a blatent "product placement" (I wonder what M$ was paid?).
The point being that it's not so easy in...
Actually it's only 1 table more than the total number of tables.
Try this; Create a database container, add a couple of tables with all of the options you might use, long filenames, relations, indices, etc. close the tables and the database container then re-open the database container with...

Also, the DBC is just another Fox Table providing the extra information to define the "database container". The only overhead would be a "relational" connection to this additional Fox table to supply the database container functionality.
If you don't have any persistant...
From the Visual Foxpro 6 documentation:
The .exe file works in conjunction with two Visual FoxPro dynamic link libraries (Vfp6r.dll and Vfp6enu.dll) that you ship with your application to provide a complete run-time environment for Visual FoxPro.
You only need to copy these two libraries into...
Use the _CLIPTEXT system variable in Foxpro:
_CLIPTEXT = cExpressionParameters
cExpression
Specifies the character expression to store in the Clipboard.
Remarks
You can place a character expression cExpression on the Clipboard with STORE or the = assignment operator.
Cheers; Chet Gardiner...
VB.net and C# are essentially the same. They compile to the code that runs using the .NET Common Runtime Library.
VB.net is more similar to JAVA than it is to VB6 and previous. .NET is Microsoft's latest attempt to "take over" the internet. They have included the CRL in XP and...
