So as posted in the thread below I decided it would be FUN to try and build my own switch box. One that would include vidseo, USB, and audio lines. Who needs PS/2 keyboard connectors anyway. But I realized that there might be some electronics involved, like a resistor to squelch an overload...

Checking an HD in it;'s entirety

A sure there's an app out there for this, just can't find it. Would like to search the entire harddrive for data that matches a few patters: A partial name, number, areacode, etc. Then show me the data next to it. Surely such an app exists? If so, would love to know about it. Many thanks...

Need to BAND-AID repair Win 7 (extract)

Sorry for the lack of info, and for time it took me to reply, the holiday season is rough on a bartender. In another life I was a techie/programmer...so while I am a partial idiot, I know just enough to know what to do, etc. I don't have the other laptop with me here, or I would honestly run...

Thanks. Am not sure of the version, nor do I have access to all the manuals. Anyone know if manually changing it in the ini file is dangerous? Or is this something that should only be changed in the GUI? If via GUI, any idea of the module name to change it? Again, sorry to be so vague, I...

Aloha switches to modem, and won't go back to DSL till reboot

Thanks for the reply. If I may ask a follow up: If set to 1 or more, does that mean after a few times of having to use the modem, will it still (and always) retry the Internet? Any idea why after awhile the modem starts to fail as well? Thanks again
