Hello - just a 4 month follow-up to let you know what has happened. Since August, one CompTime request was submitted (22 hours - 3 midnight projects). It was rejected. Again, no reason. Just rejected. Overall Situation: Not good. Outlook: eh. . . not too good either. SideEffects: Well...

    CompTime - Feedback Please

Greetings all ~ I'm in bind here at work w/Comp Time. We do not have an official policy, and I think the lack of 'this' policy is being used unfairly. More specifically, towards our technical staff. Currently, tech staff are salary. Typical work week is 45 to 55 hours. Standard. Any Comp...

    Choosing Backup Software

butkus - We are using ArcServe7 (or BrightStor) for Netware. Tons of issues. Patch after patch, they even had pre-patches. ((What the heck is a pre-patch?!)) Pros: New GUI - same options. If you've worked with v6 or other versions of ArcServe you'll be able to navigate pretty easily...

    Printer pukes over network

Hi - Make sure the printer is set to "Print directly to printer" - sometimes, when you have "Print/Spool" it will exhibit the same type of issues. Also - from your 2k machine, ensure your using the PS driver for your PC and not the PCL driver. Good Luck.

How do I remove the list of tapes previously used for backups??

Hi everyone. Using ArcServIT 6.6 w/Novell When I go to preform a restore, it lists every tape I've every used as a backup. Is there a way to remove the ones I no longer need listed there? It seems easy, but I can't find a simple "Remove" or "Delete" anywhere. Thanks again ~

Can you create HTML email w/GroupWise 6 ?

Just wondering if you can create HTML emails w/GW6? I've heard you can, but the spec sheet for the GW6 updgrade doesn't come right out and say "YES YOU CAN." . . . and I do not want to assume anything. Thanks everyone.

Increasing "Long term cache hits" & LRU

salserocito - Very helpful and informative. So in summary, I should not be so concerned with my LRU as should be with overall MRU and the LTCH? Is that correct? Thanks again.

Increasing "Long term cache hits" & LRU

5.1 SBE sp4 - A while back, I dropped 512MB upgrade into my server [for a total of 892MB]. My main goal was to increase efficiency of my "Long term cache hits" and LRU set time. After restarting my server, the LTCH starts at about 70% - it has slowly increased - currently at 81%...

ANY CONSIDERATIONS FOR DEFRAGMENTING RAID ARRAYS

ww23 From what I remember, NT will automatically "attempt" to defrag itself on a regular basis. However, the only true defrag for an NT environment w/RAID (ie RAID 5) is to use a 3rd party product, such as offered by powerquest. ( http://www.powerquest.com/powermanage/ ) or other...

Locate internal Hacker by IP address?

Brianc2K - There's a program called Proactive NDS Control. I haven't personally tried it, but may be something that could really help you out in a school environment. Tracks failed logins, deletions, security = to me additions, NDS object creation. . . tons of stuff...

    Strange Numbers on the pages

ericD - Is it with a particular program? I've seen some people screw up their normal.dot template before, which creates some funky things (like those numbers) - and, I've also seen co-workers screw around with other peoples workstations and create /h+ footers & headers (which you won't see...

    activeX and PDF files

guymason - Have seen that before when user's PDF is within a website, and the PDF is referencing a file some where other than the original server. Netscape --> Advanced --> Settings or if IE, version 5.0 had documented some of these issues with PDF files. Fix = Install 5.5 sp1 If not...
