itsp1965 : I'm well aware of how to change a computer name in 2000 but, *thanks* for that.
I'll restate, I know the impact is only cosmetic but do you know how to do it? Or can you? Is this something that needs to be done via an AD metadata tools.
bcaster, the quoted string works just as well (not, as the case may be.) Not sure if I mentioned it but when placing the $OEM$ directory in the i386, the drivers directory copies to wherever I point it to (%System Root% drive root, whatever) but do not install during PnP.
Any more options?
Hey,
We have a slight imaging problem, our webservers are still trying to use the account name from the computer they were imaged from. (For the sake of argument, IUSR_NONE) whilst the systems are called something else.
Does anyone know of a way to change local account/group names in the...
bcastner- Check whatever KB article points to OEM PnP, they say it "MS only supports doing this over a network share." We want to do it from a CD.
But hey, let's not be pedantic.
I'll skim through... Look at the answer file, your bit about the colon and location of the drivers is...
Heya,
We have tried to create a custom bootable 2000 installation CD with non-native drivers.
Unfortunately, though we have all of the relevant fields within the answer file and the relevant directory structure on the CD, the drivers still aren't installing. What we want to do is create a CD...
Hmm, we're getting quite a few communication problems. To the point where Novell abends if it even tries to see the disks.
What card did you use to run the IBM fitness test?
I flashed the BIOS yesterday for my 2110 card, it still reports as dead half way through rebuild. I suspect a connection problem of sorts with the actual adapter as opposed to the array itself. The bonus is, when I rebooted the computer, it now says it's 85% rebuilt, the highest it's gone so...
I shouldn't have even posted mine, that sounds awfully similar except we're using a 2110 card in a clone running Netware 4.11.
Ours was ID5 as well, which we also replaced with a like drive.
Any resolution?
We have a RAID-5 array {6 disks} attached to a seperate server with an Adaptec 2210 card. Recently we had a disk fail, which has since been replaced. We've been having all sorts of problems:
Novell reporting that Domain Validation Had to Decrease Speed {changed the speed type in the Adaptec...
Gah!
Here's what happened: Ran the lockdown tool from MS for IIS 4, rebooted the server and wham! no more web proxy. (Proxy Server 2.0) When I go into the default website properties, ISAPI filters w3proxy.dll doesn't show as loaded. I receive two event IDs in NT 4.0 from W3SVC, 127 and 14...
Right!
My own solution:
Clean the tape drive, everything connects now
*Must* stop and start the database engine in ArcServe after merging, otherwise it falls over and causes a fatal oe.
Hi there,
Right, here's what I'm trying to do:
Restore a mail file for a user from December, relatively simple job, however:
1. When I attempt to restore the file from any tape it's been writ to, I receive a 6500 and then 3051 tape connectivity error message.
2. Device can see all but one...
Hi there,
Had something similar, I believe. Check the following:
1. Make sure the Windows 2000 Remote Storage service is disabled
2. Use the ArcServe utility to have it gain "full control" over the device.
3. Check the SCSI order
These two things were temp fixes for us, in the...
Found out what it was on a teeny little blurb in microsoft documentation. You can disallow anonymous access to the various services in IIS all you like but if the default website is set to allow, it doesn't make a difference.
Had to kill the anonymous access to the ftp service.
That did it 0_0.
Having issues with anonymous users being able to use our proxy to route on to external sites. The ips are external. Setup the ACL for a new group called WWW Proxy, removed machine accounts from the group. It forces logon from IE within the domain but still I see anonymous logons when I go and...

Hey guys,
Thanks for the tip, hopefully this will work. Could whoever the nice person was that posted the link to the manual do it again for me? Have the thing pulled apart, can't remember how long to leave the CMOS battery off for.
Thanks!
Tiffany
Thanks for the tip, I don't think I looked very clearly at the Cisco site, but that's what I was looking for as well.
Amazing how passwords get lost in the fray :).
Incidentally, do you know of any good web resources for newbies sort of thrown into the whole supporting Cisco routers?
I've...
