Removing SP4 sounds like my only option in narrowing down the actual issue. I will try that when I get some free time. If you have more info on the slow mapping issue, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Also, once mapped, using the "+" or "-" to browse the directory structure on the left "Folders" pane is quick. However, when you click on a directory to view in the right pane, it takes just as long as it is to map a drive. Does this seem familiar to anyone?

The DNS configuration for the SP4 machines are identical to machines without SP4. The DNS configuration is also identical to the state before SP4 was installed. Any other ideas?
By the way, I uninstalled Microsoft's Client for NetWare on another machine. It did not fix the issue that time...
We have various Windows based servers. One is a Windows 2000 and the others are NT 4.0. The Windows 2000 server has Netscape Directory Services installed for a specific use.
Essentially, a few workstations, that have Windows 2000 Professional, were just upgraded to SP4. Before the upgrade...
Is there anyway to control when and if the "Database Password" prompt appears for users? I'd like to have it such that when a user opens the MDE, it detects the NT username first, then determines whether it should continue and show the "Database Password" prompt. This would...

Does SQL Server have tools to track users who are logged onto the SQL Server via a desktop application, as well other pertinent stats? Thanks.

How do you utilize a stored procedure from MS SQL Server that requires user parameter input in Crystal Reports? Also, any tips on creating a Cross-Tab query in Crystal Reports? Thanks again!
Jung
That makes sense. Thanks.
Ultimately, I would like to call up a View or Stored Proc from Crystal Reports. Crystal Reports will ask for 2 parameters and pass them to the View or Stored Proc and then spit out the resultant data set.
I'm a bit new to Views and Stored Procs. Any ideas on how to...

If it's possible, how do you utilize variables in a SQL View? Everytime I try to declare the variable and use it, it gives me the following error:
Server: Msg 156, Level 15, State 1, Procedure sample_this2, Line 5
Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'declare'.
Thanks.

Junior,
Yes, that's true. I can cover all bases, as far as security using a properly set up Access User-Level logins. However, the way I have it now makes it easier for me to make changes: (1) I don't need to have the appropriate MDW file, as I'd have to have multiple MDWs for multiple...
Nick,
Here's my current process:
1) MDB for editing/development
2) Disable "Bypass Key" and convert to MDE
3) Users double click a shortcut which refers to the MDW
4) Users must login with User-level security.
If I need to look at the tables in the MDE, I don't need to worry about...
Hello,
I've been searching all over the net, as well as Microsoft's Knowledge Base, but could not find what I need. Basically, I'd like to take an Access 2000 database, secure it using the following:
(1) "Database Password"
(2) Access User-Level Security
Then, I would like to open...
