Yea thanks for that advice graveslu but we work with what we are given. Speaking of which we got the proper bpstart and bpend from our Symantec rep and all is well.
The master server is a windows 2003 server and the bpstart_notify.bat scripts are in cmdshell. The client server we want to backup from is AIX 5.3. Is it as simple as removing the @REM's in the .bat and replacing them with #?
and before you ask, there is no goodies directory in /usr/oepnv/netbackup/bin/ on the client AIX server.
Do the media server components need to be installed?
We have a new netbackup 6.5 server and a new AIX server that we are trying to schedule backups on however I cannot find the bpstart_notify or bpend_notify scripts to edit them?? We have the correct agent installed on the AIX server and i can't find them under /usr/oepnv/netbackup/bin/

Yes all services were running. We have since removed SMTP again and after reinstalling and recreating the clustered resource for SMTP, it fails to start with the following event log...

While troubleshooting another issue with one of three exchange servers, SMTP protocol was reinstalled by a domain admin (although not Exchange Admin). Since this happened no email leaves the Outbox on the clients, the Local Delivery Queue says ready but always has 0 messages.

Issue resolved! (Clients are Windows 2000 and XP btw) It turns out it wasn't related to DNS, WIN's or Windows 2003 at all. It was a setting on the Cisco 3002 VPN Concentrator.
IPSec Fragmentation Policy was set to:
- Fragment prior to IPsec encapsulation without Path MTU Discovery (Clear DF...
We updated the firmware on the concentrator and still no change. I think someone, possibly myself, will be driving 2 hours to the site soon and doing some heavy testing at the site.
The error you get when running \\SERVERNAME is the standard "The network path was not found." although it takes nearly 2 minutes for this error to pop up. The servers that are having problems are running Windows Server 2003 (Enterprise and Standard) w/ SP2.
These WAN sites have their own VPN...
They're connecting with an older Cisco VPN concentrator. We have other remote WAN sites with the same hardware and they are working fine. We rebooted the VPN concentrator last night, out of desperation mostly, and no change.
On a side note, we found that for one of the problem servers if you...
They're all on our domain and are getting our DNS and WINs servers. They CAN ping the hostname and it does resolve to the correct IP address. We've entered static DNS and WINs servers, added the host name to the HOST file, and we still cannot browse to \\SERVERNAME\ from any of the 20 computers...
We have an application server in house that was recently rebuilt with Windows 2003 R2. It IS working for all internal users and all but one remote facility.
This one remote facility can ping the server name and can browse to the IP address of the server using \\IPADDRESS\SHARENAME but CANNOT...
Thank you for both links. The powers that be say we do have money for training. I was looking at the IBM QPKA1 online suite...

I'm hoping to start working more in our AIX environment but admittedly have little experience with UNIX in general. Could someone recommend some good books/courses/CBTs/Certifications I could look into? Thanks!
Thanks for the reply, I have been doing a lot of digging into Citrix printing (also got my CCA for PS4.5) and have came across the SressPrinters utility. I think we are going to move away from Session Printing actually. The plan is to distribute printers via group policy and enable client...
Instead of running dual displays with extended desktop try doing a horizontal span of the desktop across both monitors and see if you have the same issue. Also in the past we've had issues with published applications on dual displays if the primary monitor is not the left most. Don't ask me why...
We've had this happen when sessions are timing out and new connections, using the same generic account, resume the disconnected session. Best practice would be to use unique accounts for each user but that's not always possible, or at least easily accomplished. You should be able to adjust your...
Apparently the short answer is: No, Session Printers do not work with the UPD in Presentation Server 4 and 4.5.

We have the Session Printers policy configured to assign printers to user groups. And the printers are imported from our Windows 2003 print server. Are you saying we should be able to configure the policies to use the Universal Print driver?
Currently the citrix admin is running a script, and...
