    Windows 7 automatic job start

And as an update, MS has a new version of Robocopy called RichCopy. It has a beyyer GUI, supports threaded backups, can be run from a command line, etc. Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. (google richcopy for download info as well as help, etc)

Help MS SQL Indexing: Table structure & Search criteria provided here

sam4help you may also want to google: SQL Server 2005 Performance Dashboard reports. It's a free download from MS. You need SQL Server 2005 SP2 or above. One of the many things it does is suggest indexes. I've used it in the past nad it can be helpful.

Can you ever trust the Search in Windows 7 ?

aking All I can say is I'm glad your not my sys admin. I've worked with EVERY version of windows, not to mention DOS. Maybe you should re-read some of the websites that offer how to use Windows 7 search. It's not that difficult. Do you even understand what a HIDDEN file is? It's not visible...

Can you ever trust the Search in Windows 7 ?

Sorry, but I have no problem finding files using Windows 7. Hidden, System, or otherwise. IF your searching for hidden files, why do you expect to find it/them. They are HIDDEN. IF you know the name of the file and the folder it's in, change the attribute.

Registry location for Cameras and Portable Devices

Chris.... Looking at the time stamp, I beat you by about a second ...lol.. BTWS, not every device is listed where you say it's at. I have a digital camera and a MFD, with scanner. The location doesn't even exist on my pc. And there are registry entries all over the place. Same with my MFD.

move data from one database to another

I have to add my 2 cents as to upgrading to SQL 2008 Express. There are just too many advantages in going with SQL Server (express or not). Among them (and you can use these as arguements for an update): 1) It's FREE!!!! 2) Would resuce network traffic (You do know that when you return a...

Registry location for Cameras and Portable Devices

Can you ever trust the Search in Windows 7 ?

Have you tried Google? It IS your friend. Try using these keywords: windows 7 search options. Using windows 7 search requires a bit more work perhaps, but it DOES work. Also look up windows aqs (Advanced Query Syntax).

    displaying PDF in email body

What you can try is associating a file extension with the program that open it. i.e. an attached .xls file is openned by Excel, etc. We use a program called Fortis (it's basically a back end to our imaging system). Normally .tif images are stored, but so can most anything else, including...

Is Windows 7 Home Premium 32 or 64 bit?

A really easy way to find out if your OS is 32 or 64 bit is to open the control panel and then double click on the system icon. Once it opens, look under the System heading. It should say either 32 bit OS or 64 bit OS. As far as 32 vs 64 bit OS, I'd say that 32 bit OS are dead or will be soon...

Start with C# or VB 2010

I find that both c# and VB.net have their strength and weaknesses. Part of the problem, I think, is the way in which Microsoft has developed each language. Each lang. contains parts that can be difficult to use and to understand why MS did what MS does. Sometimes the simplest things are...

    RDP doesn't work any longer

you might also take a look here: http://forum.wegotserved.com/index.php/topic/5126-rdc-connection-mstscexemui-error/ Don't know if it will help or not. Also, have you tried stopping and restarting the RDC service? Note: The RDC service has a couple of dependencies, namely RPC (Remote Procedure...

How to convert scanned documents to PDF/XPS

I'll throw in Foxit. Also free and installs as a printer. However, have you checked your scanner or mfd? It may be able to scan directly to a pdf file. I have an Epson Workforce 310 mfd. One of the scan options is to pdf file. Works well! What kind of problems is your accountant having? Tell...

    APPCRASH

SP1 is NOT the problem. I also have Windows 7 installed with SP1. I also have IE9, and fF4 installed. Both work without problems. I had chrome installed, but do not like it at all, so removed it. IF the problem comes up again, I would re-run chkdsk with the /R option. It does some other things...

Virtual PC 2007 - How to get it to install image of old Win98SE HD

You say you have an image of your hd? I assume you mean an ISO file? If so, you can copy it to your pc. In virtual pc start a new guest os. Does it support 98SE? Plus you'll need toformat your new OS partition in FAT format, as 98 doesn't support NTFS. Also look here...

    VB.Net vs OpenSource

And I'll add my 2 cents here. Does the software that you currently use allow for development in open-source. I work withsoftware in which you can use only 1 of 3 or 4 dev tools. Those being vb.net, c# and something called SBL (it's a vb scripting clone). How many MS-OS apps has your company...

Again, do a net use /...
