    confirm license method

Hi Guys, I have a SQL 2005 installation that I've inherited. Could someone please tell me how to confirm the method of licensing used. ie per processor or per user. If per user I also need to know how many cals there are. It doesn't seem to work the same way as 2000 and so I'm a little stuck...

    RAID 5 Drive Failures

Well in an ideal world you'd never use it. But the point is it's there should you need it - it's an insurance. And yeah, you will need to bring the system down to replace the bad drive but you'll be able to choose when you do it. Which controller do you have? http://scottcross.blogspot.com...

    RAID 5 Drive Failures

or instead of going Hot Swappable you should be able to add a hot-spare. Then in the event you lose a drive, you wouldn't need to bring the system down. http://scottcross.blogspot.com Windows and NT Admin.

loadbalancing failover options with UNC paths?

mrdenny is right. Domain based DFS will do exactly what you want. you'll end up with a path like \\domainname\sharename but it will point to multiple targets like \\server1\share \\server2\share http://scottcross.blogspot.com Windows and NT Admin.

    Restore Domain Controller

You can seize the roles, The link I supplied earlier shows how to do this. Although, you probably won't notice the lack of these 2 roles until you either try to extend the schema or create a child domain. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong on this. http://scottcross.blogspot.com...
