    SmartUPS SUI1400INET Hotswappable?

The battery is not part of the circuit with these UPS'. These are what is called a line interactive UPS, they trickle charge the battery but it does not effect the UPS when swapping the battery. Plan a service window because it CAN go down. It shouldn't, but it does happen.

    SmartUPS SUI1400INET Hotswappable?

Hello Mick, The battery is hot swappable. However, given the age of the UPS, which I can tell by the product number, you may want to do it after hours just to be on the safe side. Should it go down? No. I used to work at APC, and I have had it happen to customers on the phone, esp with older...

    Smart UPS 3000

Physically? Just pull it out, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you have it lit, you have to get the voltage within a normal range. You can change the sensitivity on the UPS lower, and that may help if your area has normally higher than 120V.

    What cable is it? 940-0024D?

APC SYMMETRA Power Array - Serial Communication Lost

Try reflashing it. You'd be surprised how many times that works.

    UPS Question

Best way to do it is to set the computer to "last power state" in BIOS. At this point you would set the UPS to basically shut off after the computer does. As soon as power comes back on the outlets will refresh and it SHOULD reboot. However, if the UPS never goes off it won't work. Your best...

    APC surtd5000rmxlt installation

Batts always on the bottom. Sometimes the cable won't even work if they are above.

    Smart UPS 3000

One other way is to reset the constants on the unit. That basically tells it the correct measurements. You would have to call APC to find out what the right ones are. I wish I still had my sheet, but they can help with that. Tell em I sent ya. :) ~ Nathan Dunn

    Anybody do ups repair?

If your looking for a place, CBMI.com does repairs. They are the only APC certified repair shop if you have an APC unit.

    Smart UPS 3000

It means it doesn't know it's runtime. You can do one of two things. You can go into the software and perform a "Runtime Calibration" or you can put about a 30% load on it and unplug the UPS until it drops the load. When you plug it back in it should be calibrated. It will drop anything...

    Smart UPS 3000

Sounds good. Was just wondering the age of the UPS because the older they are the more you see stuff like the PCB fail. Looks like it was week 00 of 09. I worked at APC until about 4 months ago so if you need any more APC help just let me know.

    Smart UPS 3000

So the battery bar graph is just showing nothing? I would start by unplugging it, unplugging the batts while it is unplugged from the wall. Hold down the off button you should hear a click inside of it. At this point plug the batts back in. Hold down the test button, you'll hear one beep then...

Delaying windows start up after AC in and server reboot

If it's an APC UPS, when power comes back on it's going to restart all the outlets, so no. You would have to do that manually as far as I know.

    Office LAN nightmares....help!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most likely the reason your seeing the DNS server is because it is the DNS server in use. Most likely that's why your computer has a route to it. Can you narrow it down to any segments? As in, one part of the office but not the other? If so, can you ping from a...

    smart-ups 1400,load indicator is incorrect

The load indicator is in VA. Could be your not using 450 or 900 VA but less. Those LEDs don't perfectly match up to 20% either... it's like 24% give or take. I would check through the software if you want the most accurate reading. You would want to download Powerchute Business Edition from...
