Looking for a UPS that has the ability to restart a computer after the following happens.

1. Power goes out.
2. UPS shuts down server.
3. Power returns. UPS battery never drained.
4. Server needs to be restarted somehow at this point.

We had server set to power up when it detects a new power source. As the battery on the UPS never died, when the power was restored, as far as the server is concerned, it's not a new power source and stays down.

thanks

Best way to do it is to set the computer to "last power state" in BIOS. At this point you would set the UPS to basically shut off after the computer does. As soon as power comes back on the outlets will refresh and it SHOULD reboot. However, if the UPS never goes off it won't work. Your best bet at that point would be to have a switch rack PDU so you can log in remotely and power cycle the outlet.
