    Apparent loss of profile

BINGO! http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314045 I never thought to search Google for loss of profile, but after seeing this post, I did and found this article.

    Apparent loss of profile

Another note - This NEVER occurs under XP to my knowledge, so those of you cursing Windows, get a newer OS. I have too many here to update, so we have to live with it for now.

    Apparent loss of profile

This is so funny, I was writing a new post about this and saw this one right above it. This happens at our company once a month, and is getting very irritating. Here's the story: This is a problem that occurs at random and I'm not sure why. The person's folder under C:\Documents and...

We have one user with Acrobat Standard 6, IE7, XP SP2. She can see PDFs in all websites except our company's intranet, and she gets an object expected error. Any ideas? Thank you!

Unable to merge pdfs in order Acrobat 6

We open Acrobat, go to Create PDF - from Multiple files, then browse, then select all files for that client in that are in the main folder. Then we have to drag and drop the one file out of place every time, while our one co worker doesn't, she just then clicks OK.

Unable to merge pdfs in order Acrobat 6

Greetings, Little baffled by this, would appreciate some help. We have 4 people with Acrobat on their systems who do monthly merges of multiple reports into single PDFs. We all have Acrobat 6. When 3 of us try to merge multiple files, they are out of order when selected. We have a naming...

    How do I stop Nagios?

Anyone know how to permanently disable Nagios? Do I just remove the file from the init.d folder?

    Word of the Year

I've watched The Daily Show on occasion, back when Colbert was on it, so I'm familiar. I just don't see the big deal about the word, it's not a work of art, why treat it as such? In fact, I do think it's clever, but not to the point of a new word being dictated, or even an entry in Wikipedia...

    Word of the Year

In my lack of delving into the world of pop culture and sticking to traditional news coverage (which isn't much better than the comedy central version), I have just learned about this through the post. And I just have to say, it's very lame and annoying. After getting my fill on Wiki, not...

    Word of the Year

Interesting story about the purported Chinese curse: http://www.noblenet.org/reference/inter.htm Which as according to the article lends itself to another appropriate phrase for the times: "It's better to be a dog in a peaceful time than be a man in a chaotic period.

    How do I stop Nagios?

Gotcha, thought you meant I had to do all three! Now I understand... did I mention I'm a newb? :)

    How do I stop Nagios?

Can you explain what this does? I know nothing about this, so it would be appreciated. Thanks.

    How do I stop Nagios?

We just had a power outage, and when our Linux server came back up, it is kicking out emails to our system regarding the status of a server on the network. How do I get it to stop? I looked at all the folders on the server but cannot find anything named Nagios. Thanks for your help.

    Monitoring server room temp

I did see those, and we do have APCs, but I just don't want to spend an arm and a leg on it, even though it's warranted.

    scheduled task do not start

Have you tried to delete it and recreate the task? Even when we set it to run under Administrator, sometimes that works and who knows why. Don't have that problem anymore, but used to happen with fair frequency.
