XP Machine works for awhile, then shuts down.

I will recommend a BIOS upgrade to see if that works, or leave it at safe mode for a while, if it shuts down in safe mode it must be a hardware issue.

Don't forget your hot spare drive, I know you lose one drive's full of storage, but it's worth it, believe me.

PE 2450 has flashing orange light next to disk

It's hot swap if you have an array say of 6 disks, you grab 5 for the RAID 5, and leave the sixth as hot swappable, the array manager can be used to assign the sixth as hot swap, although it recommneds to shut down the server, so much for "hot swap", but hey you don't have to wait long to get a...

PE 2450 has flashing orange light next to disk

This means the disk has failed and if your are running RAID 5 config the +1 disk has taken over, if any other disk fails you will lose the data!, so change it ASAP. Probably your array manager should tell you the problem, and running like this is on degraded state, so any changes to the array...

Windows NT computer using 2003 print server

Be sure to add "additional Drivers" to the 2003 print server, if you can get your hands on NT.4.0 drivers add them to the driver list, you should be fine. Go to the sharing properties of the printer, click on the Additional drivers button, X86 Windows NT 4 is on the list, and is not installed...

    Ghost Options

I have norton ghost enterprise 9.0 and it creates bootable CDs by itself, you just need to have the NDIS2 network card drivers, the program includes lots of cards and the rare cards (newer) that don't work have the driver on their webpage and work just fine. If you copying HD to HD its way more...

PC takes a long time to boot up

Also you could see what service maybe hanging to load, some services that don't start take a long time to give up and release control to the next service, see your system's log for errors. Also removing unnecessary services work, see what you may not need, like if you have a static IP you don't...

BIOS Corrupted -- Format Hard Drive?

OMG reset the BIOS for $89? that's the cost of the whole motherboard! I had a MoBo that the BIOS was corrupted, it was still on warranty, I send the bad one, they send me back a good one, installed, no reconfig of anything (recognized the same HD, RAM, etc.). Tell HP that's an awful customer...

We still use old-school ghost from a floppy..

Ghost 8.0 and above have the network bootable capability, either using NDIS or built in NIC boot, it creates the image to be bootable from the network. The downside is you have to have the ghost enterprise version, a DHCP server and of course Bootable NICs. The process to create a network...

    PC fan running overtime

If it is emulating 16bit it will sure take a lot of processor time, or running the game in a "compatible" mode. My suggestion is to close the game if taking a rest (this applies to all games, not just this one)
