I do believe that the copper it's self has been there since the 70's. But the CO equipment has probably been recently upgraded since the 70's era equipment has died. I have tried to use the Busy Tone Detection with limited success.
Keep hassling Century Link. They can do it... Just the kids they have for tech support don't know how to do it. There are a lot of names for the same function. I assume these are internet lines. I have had to go round with several internet analog lines providers to find out what their...
If I am understanding the question correctly it sounds more like an issue with the service provider. CID is a function of the provider. If the IT doesn't get CID when the receptionist calls and it is an external number any caller id would be provided by the service provider depending on the...
You probably want to post this to the regular IP Office forum but most third party endpoints don't have most of the functions of the native SIP phones. A lot would depend on the web interface of the phones abilities.
I know on the 9500 beeping like that is a packet loss warning. You probably have a network issue. I also know there is a setting that can turn off the beeping but that is like taking the battery out of your smoke detector because you are playing with matches.
I would be curious about the hunting of the lines and the number of rings before it switches. The IPO will wait for the CID between the first and second ring before it will start ringing the phones. If the hunt between lines roll to line two too quickly it will act exactly like you describe...
I can honestly say I have never tried to use two extensions with sequential hunt for off site transfer but I would use Monitor to see why the second call is not completing. You should be able to see targeting and such. You could also try rotary hunt to see if it works any different. Just make...
I would use an ATA twinned to the extension with any off the shelf loud ring adapter. There are also several amps that have a special input just for that application. I would look at the Viking Electronics products.
I put in several school bell systems. The most reliable way I found to do it was with a Viking CTG-2A with a relay connected to a ring down analog port that called a shortcode that did a post dial. The post dial would play a wav file to a page group. If I recall correctly the shortcode needs...
You can test the MOH with a shortcode *34N# replacing N with the source number 1 (System Source) or 2 to 32 (Alternate Sources). Then they need to be assigned usually to an ICR.
I can honestly say I have never worked with the NEC page port but I have installed many Valcom talk back units. Usually they need to be on an analog trunk port not a page port. The typical page port isn't a two way connection. But this is just my 2 cents worth.
