Thanks for the reply.
I've updated our software by installing SP2, Device Patch 9, and the security patch. Unfortunatly, I still have the same issue.
I tried to do a restore by media and it went through the restore process but the folder it restored to was empty and the job log said 0kb and 0...
Hi,
We're using BrightStore ARCserve Backup r11.1 (Build 3060). I'm trying to do a restore using the restore by session and I keep getting the error message
Invalid Session header signature (SIG=0000000)
no matter which tape I use to restore from.
All I need is one file from the backup...
Thanks for your reply. This is only an issue when the PDF file is generated within a Unix system and then e-mailed to us.
We are rewriting the code on our Unix programs to take the new method into account.

Hi Craig,
We have the same setup. I've had this happen and for us, it's usually the DHCP service that has stopped. Check all your services to make sure the necessary ones are running.
Last resort, you could reboot the server.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the response lwcomputing.
It is a known issue (at least that's what their website said and no fix) with the version of ArcServe that we're using that it will not allow compression when using an Iomega REV drive.
From what I've read NTbackup will allow the REV drive to compress...
I thinking about converting our current backup from CA to the NT backup. We're running SBS2k3 and Exchange 2k3. The backup is running on an external tape drive and with CA we can't get the compression we need.
It's my understanding that with NTbackup I can get compression on an external tape...
