hi all
I noted the pc was still joined to an old domain that no longer existed. I changed this to workgroup called HOME and then rebooted as requested.

Previously I accessed the PC with username QA and password QA. HOwever after the PC rebooted successfully this username or password no longer works??

How can I access my PC?

Many thanks to all who take time to read/reply.

Have you tried logging in as administrator with no password?

When you break your Domain relationship you revert to a Workgroup setting. In this security context only local usernames and passwords will be accepted.

So if i cant remember any of the LOCAL user accounts nor the ADMINISTRATOR password then whats my options?

There are some options you can find with a Google search on "Lost Administrator password"; site rules prevent me from explaining how to proceed further in your instance as it involves circumventing XP security.

Best wishes,
Bill Castner
