Thanks a lot. Since we are on UCM we won't be able to take advantage of web collaboration, but I think I'll go ahead with the upgrade from 9.0.4 to 9.1 to take advantage of this scheduling as this is one of the most requested features from users.
Ports required are as mentioned very well documented. Example of split DNS is below, but of course you should modify it to suit your own domain.
For Split DNS,
Public clients:
ipo.domain.com -> [External IP of IPO]
onex.domain.com -> [External IP of OneX server]
Private clients...
Hi,
Anyone has more information or experience with the conference scheduling in UCM on R9.1, other than the limited text in the R9.1 release notes? Currently on 9.0.4 but am interested in 9.1 if the scheduling works.
Thanks a lot.
If the two sites are on 2 ends of the site-to-site VPN, they really shouldn't be on the same subnet. If it is then the network engineer need to learn how to set a network and VPN up properly.
And if they are on a site-to-site VPN, then no you shouldn't have VPN enabled on the phone as the VPN...
The 96xxvpn.txt is used when the phone is actually outside of the network on the Internet and need to do a VPN into the Sonicwall for connectivity. In your case if you have 2 Sonicwall at the sites, you should have a site-to-site VPN that handles all the VPN/network side of things (that's the...
There is no need for forwarding and the cleanest solution is when you have site-to-site vpn. If they are on different subnet just make sure you have a route at each end pointing them over the vpn.
@nnaarrnn: I've got a 9608 VPN to a Sonicwall NSA240 by following the instructions in Technical...
Does the remote office has a Sonicwall as well? If so they should set up a site-to-site VPN and your H323 phones will be connected as if on the local network.
We had problems with authentication and ghost users for 9.0.3 when the IP was set to 169.254.x.x, and when we re-install for 9.0.4 we used the actual routable IP instead of 169.254.x.x. Worked immediately so perhaps you can give it a try despite what the manual said.
Thanks guys for the reply. I think I will arrange for a trial SIP trunk license from our BP. For testing I am thinking of using Anveo Direct, their call termination is by IP authorization and prefix in the SIP URI sent directly to them. I was confused and thought I still need RTP ports forwarded...
Hi,
Would it be ok if we set up SIP trunk for outgoing calls without a SBC for an IPO 500 V2 on 9.0.4 behind a firewall, assuming we make the following settings:
- Firewall access control only allow communications between ITSP SIP server IP and the public IP
- Port forward only 5060, 5061 and...
The contractor is simply not saying anything at all. As far as I can see, they set up QoS on one of the BPS, and that's it. QoS on that BPS is set by having all ports in one single group, IP filter defined for both BCM systems, and a policy with all matching traffic with Platinum service.
Thanks.
Hi,
We have two sites with BCM linked thru a T1. The T1 link has Nortel Passport 2430 routers on both sides, and the LAN switches we use are BPS2000. The connection is something like this:
BCM-1 <-> BPS-1 <-> 2430-1 <-> T1 <-> 2430-2 <-> BPS-2 <-> BCM-2
The BPS are supposedly set up by the...
Hi skip and aarenot,
Those are very good points. While I do not anticipate more voice need in that area, it'd be hell if we need to get the contractor to come in and do it again if repair is needed. I think we'll go with the 12PR CMR Cat3 for this run.
Thanks a lot guys!
