Zoom extents and update filtype (DWG) to current type.

I Want to do two things outside AutoCad 2002, if possible.
From VB (Not VBA):
Zoom extents a list of files, path included, listed in a filList box or a TextBox and update them at the same time to current version if they are not (AutoCad 2002 ex. from ex. R12)
Any sugestions ? Please with some source code.

Yes, I am looking for a way to browse and fill a listbox with files from either all files in a catalog or a selection of files and then perform a batch operation on files meeting a certain criteria: Zoom extents and update filtype to R2002
