Zone paging on a MICS

Hello All,

I need a little brain refreshing here as it's been awhile since I've done multiple page zones on a MICS. I'm very aware that the Norstar system only has 1 external page port so I will have to use trunk ports to get this working. This is going to be a new install and the current phone system is a old Tie box which looks like something from the 70's. The phones have seperate keys for the different page zones and it even has a button for paging all zones. I think this is where I'm not actualy sure if the Norstar will be able to do that. If I connect these various zones to my trunk ports I don't have to dial any codes or such right? It just starts the page once that line key is pressed, so how would I accomplish this all page function that is currently working on this old Tie system on my new 0x32?

thanks for the TIE info but I don't need it at all. I know that the TIE system was connected through trunk ports. That system didnt page through the phones at all just overhead.


curly- all the time I've been messing with Norstars I didn't know after a f 62 you could enter any digits after that? I thought it only paged one zone cause when u hit the f code it says paging spkr and that's it. It doesn't show the option for zones so I didn't think it would do it? I will back at this job most likely on Thursday so I will have to try that.

That because you would hook up a third party device therefore no choices presented.

A good way to test speakers in warehouses with just entering a digit quickly.

I was always under the impression you could not send dtmf out the page port, so i never tried. If this is possible it would be a wonderful addition to the list of undocumented features.
