Hi all, it is CS100E rls 5. its been in installtion phase, i programmed all analog/DLC/IP softphone ext with everything accept Zone, i didnt created any ZOne and all MGC/DB`s are programmed with no zone entered. Today i created Zone 2 and communications between got stop , call within cabinets were working and cabinet to cabinet calls getting just busy, i then outed zone-2 and its now working OK. I dont know why is that??
2nd question is is it necessary to create a zone and use this zone MGC`s/DB`s etc...??
and last question is do i have to use other zone beside zone zero in SIP trunking between 2 site to manage bandwidth?

Any help will be very helpful.
Regards

I think you have to have the MGC's/DB's in the same zone as the IP sets. I don't believe you are supposed to use zone 0 for anything. Virtual trunks should be in a separate zone the the IP set and the MGC's.

If you didn't use a zone at first, will work but isn't good idea you will have problems latter.
If you configure a zone now all IP configuration should have a zone configure, phones and trunks, so you have to one by one and configure a zone.
Depending on your system it could be alot of work but is better if all have a zone configure.

So what you guys advise about the configuration given below

MGC/DB`s =Zone1
All IP sets=Zone2
SIP trunk=Zone3
MC32s=Zone4

On Site 2

MGC/DB`s =Zone4
All IP sets=Zone5
SIP trunk=Zone6
no MC32s card at other site.

is that correct?? if i set IP phone zone 2 ans SIP with Zone3 then does IP phones able to access SIP trunk ?as there zone are different.

So it´s correct

MGC/DB`s =Zone1
All IP sets=Zone1
SIP trunk=Zone =20 (VTRK)
MC32s =Zone 1

On Site 2

MGC/DB`s =Zone2
All IP sets=Zone2
SIP trunk=Zone =20 (VTRK)
no MC32s card at other site.

all main office IPsets/MGC DBs/VGMC/MC32s are put in the same Zone, another zone is required for VTRK, Zone 0 is only used for remote i2050's. If you have branch office/SRG then each of these has its own Zone.

I have had it before when there used to be a fault resolved by a patch that if a sysload occured then all the zones disappeared, the switch worked fine until you put your first zone (Not 0) back in then none of the sets not in that zone would work until you completed all the other zone configs.
