Hi all
Can anyone shed any light on why I get the message "zlclient.exe - no
disk" (There is no disk in the drive . Please insert a disk into drive
\Device\Harddisk2DR4.) this happens when Zonealarm starts up and has just
recently started!

Did you use some sort of removable media, flash card or something recently? Did some program on your system try to access the internet through this media?

I have a card reader attached at present , could this be the cause?

Yes, that is likely the cause.

You will probably have to do a complete wipe of ZA and clean install without the card reader attached.

Go into the start menu and the zonelabs entry and right click on the uninstaller and select properties.

Now in the target box you need to add a space and then /clean to the end so that it looks something like this "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninst.exe" /clean then click apply and then OK.

Open ZA and turn off the load on boot option, then reboot and then run the uninstaller (the one you change the shortcut for) This will get rid of ZA for you.

Now go to your windows temp folder and delete everything, then find the folder named Internet logs and delete it then empty your recycle bin. ZA should be gone.

Now reboot and reinstall the version you want without the reader attached.

This is a pain, but will likely do the trick.
