I need a report to show how many people we track/service in each zipcode. I have a simple query that shows City, State, and count of zip, but not the zip codes themselves. In this view, it seems to show just what I need to know, for instance, Greensburg PA 168 (count), except for the zipcode iteself.

When I add a second instance of the zip field into the query, hoping for "Greensburg PA 15601 168", I get the count of 15601 zips, then the counts of 15601-xxxx for each variety.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the format? I do want to keep the record of all those zip extensions, but can I tell Access (97) to ignore them for this count?

Thanks.

Calculated field left 5 of zip code. Use as Group by.

MichaelRed,

Thanks for the quick response. Can I have more specific instructions? Thanks!

Never mind, I found it in the help files:

Zip:Left([ZIPCODE],5)does just what I need it to.

Thank you, thank you!
