Hello, I have a micros 2700 touchscreen and I would like some help on how to zero out my totals for items when I "X" out for the night. Thanks for your help.

I don't know anything about micros units and don't really care too. But in the register biz an X report has always been a running report and a Z report is the one that 0's out the day to start the next. Micros may not Z out completely and maintain GGT's (grand gross totals) so that weekly and monthly reports can be accessed on down the line. I know I'm not much help, but there doesn't seem to be alot of Micros pros monitoring this forum so I just try and point you in a direction. Check with the dealer that sold the system if no one here can give you a direct answer would be my advice.

Why would you want to "zero out" item totals, or anything else for that matter, unless you don't want point-of-sale recording? One of the primary purposes of data capture is to *purposely* record that sort of thing. Ditto on Bospruell's comment re: "X" vs. "Z"... if you don't want a trail, get rid of it -- especially if it's Micros. It's legacy tech, and epitomizes the planned obsolescence that gives POS a bad name now that better stuff is available, etc.
