Hi,

I have configured apache, PHP5 and mysql and all is well. I have now begun to set up my web based help desk and it complains that I need to use the zend optimiser. I have gone to the Zend website and there does not appear to be a Netware version.

Has anybody ever needed to use Zend on Netware and is there a work-around?

Cheers,

Dzon

I personally have never seen anyone actually use PHP on NetWare. I have no doubt that it will work, but your support base is going to be much stronger if you put it on Linux.

I assume you are on Netware 6.5.

HI,

Thanks for your reply. I have finally received confirmation from Zend that their product will not work on any Novell platform. Yes, I am using 6.5.I will take your advice and use linux. I have never used Linux before so here is my chance. I do not suppose you could advise me on a linux platform to run my app, which uses Apache, PHP and mysql?

Thanks anyway

Dzon

Since this is a Novell forum...
AHEM. SuSE linux.

What you're describing is a LAMP server; Linux, Apache, Mysql, and PHP (or perl). All of the current linux distros will do this easily, and there are many.

At the moment my fav distro is Fedora Core 5 (FC5). SuSE, Ubuntu, CentOS, Knoppix, Debian, all good.
