hi People... hopefully a person who can write drivers gets this :-D but even if not any help is welcomed...

Problem...

Printing from SQL Reports program on a Svr2008 64bit machine to a Zebra LP2844 on a print server isnt working right... printing one off is fine, but if you print off more than that then after the first one it will skip a label or two and then print landscape for the rest...

on a 32bit machine with the Zebra Universal drivers it works... its the 64 bit 'Dezigner' drivers that fail.

printing from UNIX will work and other OS's that are not 64bit...

Zebra told me to try other drivers but they did the same or were 32bit version (dont know why they suggested them?)

please help.

thanks

Not to give a simpleton answer, but call Zebra and they will help you. Just have the model number and serial number of the printer available.

I had the same model at a client. The tech support guy told me that these printers are NOT like other windows printers in terms of driver installation and setup, so you're NOT being a tool for not being able to set one up like you would an HP LaserJet 4550 or something "common/normal".

Hi Goombawaho...

I have called Zebra and they imediatly said it must be the print server. To which i replyed it works on the print server from all the machines running your universal 32bit drivers. They then gave me some drivers made by other (Nice drivers i think one was called) they didnt work either.

i got the feeling they didnt want to look into this problem.

626F62,

By all means, call them back. Advise them that it didn't work, and give them as much detail as possible, such as Windows 7 64 bit, fully up to date, running this security software, bla bla bla.... using this motherboard/computer, etc...

If you don't tell them that their suggestion didn't work, then they won't know. Also, if you call back, you might get someone else who may be more helpful (just a guess).

you tried the following driver?

ZEBRA - Windows printer driver

also have you read the following thread (post by Gullgnom), as it could hold a workaround (rest of the thread is informative too, see page 3):

Windows 7 - Need Help ASAP, Zebra/UPS Thermal 2844 And Windows 7

Hi Ben

Thanks but this is the driver that Zebra pointed me too... it wasnt the same result but it was a different bad result...

still no luck on this damn Printer...

thanks

They have to support their product!!!! As long as Server 2008 is listed as a supported product (which I haven't looked at), pester the heck out of them until they give you a solution or workaround.
