Hi, wonder if anyone can help. We have a report which is connecting to DB2. In Full Client, the reports performance is fine and also in WEBI. However, with ZABO we are finding bad performance problems.

We have change the BOMain.key and increased the Array Size but this would be a problem on all platforms anyway...

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!!

From my experience the server had to be beefed up.

ZABO on v5 is simply not very good.

It's MUCH better on V6.

Improvements:

1. HTTP1.1 which minimizes number of connections to be opened
2. Enable HTTP compression
3. More control from middle-tier server instead of client.

Purge documents before publishing to the server to reduce retrieve time.

Keep in mind that BO will switch to focus on Webintelligence entirely in the future....

I don't see any performance issues with v5.1 Zabo,2.7.3. We are running 500 users globaly, Oracle db, and a 2 box cluster. Both boxes are small, 2 and 1 cpus respectivly.

How many rows is your query bringing back. How many data providers. I hope you are not trying etl. If doing etl use full client.

The query is returning around 3500 rows but is running absolutley fine in Full Client and WEBI....it's just ZABO?! We have a load of other apps which use Oracle DB too and we do not have a problem, it's just this report connecting (via ZABO) to a DB2 database (with an Oracle Repository).

It's strange...

5.1.7 had a massive improvement in ZABO performance, it uses (I think) HTTP 1.1 compression which < 5.1.7 don't hence the poor performance. Check out the readme for details.
