Hey,

This is either going to be a simple question, or a really ugly one ; )

I'm short on space in this project I'm working on, and I want to dynamically render a absolute positioned DIV on top of a flash 5 movie.

I've got the DIV, I've got the movie, but I can't find a way of making the DIV appear on top of the movie, instead of behind it.

Is there a trick to this, or is it just not possible. (netscape 6.2 and IE compatable way that is)

i'm fairly sure it's not posible.

dose anyone know if (in IE) you can place a flash movie, in a div, on TOP of another div?

To my knowledge no! Although with IE the movie can at least be transparent and show some html background stuff, nothing can be laid over the Flash movie itself because of activeX, and since this transparency wasn't even available in previous versions of NS, I don't see why it would be different with NS6.2.
Do you need both the movie and the other content on the other division to be visible at the same time?
Because I did manage, a while back, to clip an embedded Real player (which also uses activeX), and then it was possible to overlay some other content in another division, but both contents weren't visible at the same time, and that did not work in NS as well!

TheocraticMind,

Everything I've put inside of a div has appeared behind the Flash Movie. I've not played with the object tag enough to see if CSS can position a container div yet though. The Jhereg
