Hello,

Actually, I do Graphics and Multimedia and I move a lot. I really need a small size computer. I have found this -? (JiV mini P60a). So can you guys please tell me your opinion about it?! I mean is it good for Graphics and Multimedia? Or Is it more expensive?!

Thanks

I don't know too much about recent graphics cards (haven't had to build a system in a couple of years), but in general "Integrated Graphics = Bad", particularly for multimedia.

Integrated Graphics and newer Games don't go well together. For that price you could get a decent Laptop, with a decent Video Card.

An HP Laptop with a 256MB Nivida Video Card will ring you around that same price. and Its a Laptop, if mobility is your concern.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

I'm not very impressed!

Core Duo: last years technology

950 Graphics: Intels less than impressive integrated "Extreme" chipset.

8X DVDRW: When 16X Drives have been out for over a year and 18X are current best.

Small yes! but poor upgrade path and only adequate performance for your needs.

May I suggest a box based on the excellent Aspire X-QPack, this little case can accomodate any mATX motherboard and standard sized graphics card with a more than adequate 420watt PSU, so my spec would be:

Aspire X-QPack
Intel Core2 Duo E6300
2 Gig of DDR2 667mhz Corsair Value ram or similar
Asus P5B-VM (mini ATX)
Western Digital 250gig SATAII SE16 (special Edition)
18X DVDRW (NEC/Pioneer etc)
Nvidia 7300GT (entry level card but with decent performance)

Some links:

The above spec is small/beautiful/powerful and should be similarly priced? not added it up but shouldn't be far off.

Also the WinBook brand is not known for sturdy dependability and value. I agree with the above folks, either a SFF (Small Form Factor) or Core2 Duo laptop like this:

offer a better upgrade path and better graphics. If you don't like the laptop screen or keyboard you can use it as a desktop (like I do) just add a KB & monitor.

If you had to stay in that budget you would get more value with a SFF system, but laptops are nice. I have an Asus laptop single core Centrino 1.6 three years old and it is faster than my P4 2.67 GHz desktop.

There are also many offerings from Dell, but buy the service plan. Please post back with your choice.

BTW, when did "form factor" replace "shape"?

Tony
