I designed a database in Access 2000 as part of the Office 2000 suite. Then, when I attempted to deliver the db to the client who is running Office XP Small Business (with the Access 2000 part) I ran into all kinds of trouble. On my machine (Win 98, Office 2000) everything works great including the Visual Basic Module. However, on the client's machine whenever they attempt to use the form which uses VB routines to calculate prices, etc. they get the error "Microsoft Visual Basic Error - Error Accessign File. Network connection may have been lost. The Expression OnClick you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Error Accessingn Gile, Network Connection may have been lost. * The Expression may not result in the name of the macro, the name of a user-defined function or [Event Procedure]. * There may have been an error evaluating the function, event or macro"
What's weird is that this message is irregular. At first, the db worked fine. Then, this message started popping up. Then, when I was trying to debug the situation on the client's machine, their visual basic module would not let me change code. It would display code, but as soon as I started typing new code, it would display the above "error accessing file" message. I uninstalled Office XP Small Business and reinstalled - no luck. Access 2000 is on a separate CD in the Office XP Small Business suite. I installed everything properly but still get that message. The built-in help suggests an add-in to list file structure, but the add-ins on the Office XP Small Business disks are blank....
