System = 3.0(40)
Phones = mix of 54xx series.

User has a 'digital telephony' entry of 'dial #666' (#666 is a speedial number to my mobile).

Displays '#666' on the handsets screen.

User presses 'button' - it dials my mobile.

User changes the label of that button via the handset (so it now says - mobile rather than #666).

All OK so far...

I take config from system - the digital telephony entry has now disappeared (it's empty). So, when I send the config back (any method) it delete's the function off that button - so user has nothing against it now - and pressing it does nothing.

So - moral of story is - don't let users change the label of the buttons - otherwise they will get deleted on next config change!

Yet another 'undocumented feature'.

Old school Alchemy engineer - trying to keep up with the times :)

This "Undocumented" feature is listed in the V3.0(40) release notes & should be resolved in the maintanence release ( now on field trial's so I will try to update you)

thanks IPGuru - maybe I should read the release notes first ;)

Shame there is no 'edit' key on this forum.

The release notes can be amusing at times for example in 3.0(42) they apparently fixed a problem with 20CC handsets!

What happened to the link to your ftp site ?? as it had some great info and some old admin files I can no longer find ...I have to upgrade a IP403 from 1.3 to 2.1(27)
I think you have to go to 1.4 before 1.99 and in order

1.3 to 1.4
1.4 to 1.99
1.99 to 2.0.xx
2.0.xx to 2.1.27

All the info I see on Avaya's website says to go to 1.4 if
at 1.3 ..Avaya's website does have the 1.4 bin file but I
thought it best to remove the complete IPOffice Admin
under control panel > add / remove programs and reinstall
NEW IPOffice Admin and upgrade from there ???

Its the only IP403 we have as 1.3 all other are at 2.1.27 or 3.0.40 ....most were installed as 2.0.xx but upgraded later with improvements .....Thanks for any and all post

Tekc tips removed the posts & sent me an email:-
"Please be careful about posting into your URL for downloads because that violates some legal lines with the vendors, doesn't it?"

I have now informed the originator of this e-mail that all downloads available on my Public site or OK with then Copyright Holders

I suppose it was good for them to check - show they 'care' ;)
