This one is Brian Jaffe's "Corner Office" column in the May 28, 2001 eWeek. There are no clear cut answers, but it's good that these kinds of things are getting press and people are at least recognizing the issues.

I haven't lost my mind - I know it's backed up on tape somewhere ....

Having worked in IT for over 23 years I find the situations described in the article to be valid concerns.

From experience I've learned to remain ethical and moral in my position, even to the point of being threatened with my job. I have never been fired or let go for standing on my principals.

If the employer insists, do you really want to be a part of this business?

I agree with derjader it can be a very slipper slop to fall down. If yoou stay with the high ground on the samll thing you wont be asked to do the big I have never been fired but I have been passed over for my stands but I find the higher ground is more stress free and makes it so I like my job so I will stay up here. So long and thanks for all the fish.
