This is what i'm looking to do.

external network--23-->my router--8080-->to a specified host
this is my command currently:
ip nat inside source static tcp a.b.c.50 8080 int fa0/0 8080

So basically I would like to come remotely connect to my network on 23 and have my router forward that to 8080. I'm not sure if this is possible but I guess that's why i'm asking.

thanks guys in advance
holding it down in Iraq

so what you have will direct public port 8080 to internal port 8080
ip nat inside source static tcp a.b.c.50 8080 int fa0/0 8080

this would duirect public 23 to internal 8080
ip nat inside source static tcp a.b.c.50 8080 int fa0/0 23

is that what you mean?
this is PAT port address translation so you can send traffic from any port to any port.

Thanks plshlpme I think thats exaclty what I need.

The reason I need 23 is because its only port open on the network that i'm in in iraq.

thanks guys
