Hello,

Looking for some help with our TMDI/PRI I'm new to the SL1 so not sure what's going on here. Our service took a hit and I was able to get it restored by reseating the card. But have some questions about what I'm now seeing.

The CC LED on the TMDI card is Red and the YEL LED is Yellow
Used LD 60 to look at the staus of the loop and DCH which both are inservice and LCNT shows no alarm counts. Using LD 96 PLOG DCH 12 I did see the following:

Counter Value
14 13
16 21

If I read this right 14 = Count of undefined message types
and 16 = Count of messages with undefined information elements

Issuing the PLOG cmd again clears the counters but I still see that the CC LED is Red - should that clear? Is the Red CC due to the YEL alarm? Guess I need to call this in to our service provider as it means that there could be a hardware problem at the far end?

Thanks in advance

Did you switch INI when you reseated the card? when you go into ld 60 and ssck 0 does it show that TMDI as your primary clocking source? In ld48 is that tmdi enabled?

pbxn,

I did not switch INI when reseating the card. Gonna look stupid here but what is switch INI? I'll run the ssck and post the results

Here's what I've got for LD 60 SSCK 0

SSCK 0
ENBL
SYSTEM CLOCK - DTI061
PREF - 2
SREF - FREE RUN
AUTO SWREF CLK - ENBL

Looked at LD 48 but could not find a command that would have given the clocking source info for the DCH so I used LD 96 STAT DCH 12 (12 is our DCH on Loop 2 where the CC and YEL alarms are)

stat dch 12
DCH 012 : OPER EST ACTV AUTO
DES : elwaves

Sometimes when you pull a TMDI card, the switch (PBX) will INI (reboot). The slot that you pulled card from, what number is that? Say it is slot 12, go to ld 48, stat tmdi 12. This will give you the status of the card itself. Based on the ssck, your primary clocking source is loop 2. This is probably one of your circuits coming in from a carrier/LEC etc.

Here's what I have for LD 48 STAT TMDI 2

TMDI 2: ENBL
DTI 2 ENBL PORT 0
DCH 12 OPER PORT 1
.
DTC003

and now that I think about it, yes the switch did reboot after pulling the TMDI card out of slot 2 which is our ckt from our svc provider. So the CC LED is still Red and still have the YEL alm - what next

Very strange...
That red light indicates that the clock controller in on that card and there seems to be a problem with it.
SSCK 0 shows DTI061 (locked to primary source)
LD96 shows that the DCH is up and running.

Go to ld 60 and "STAT 2"
Also try LCNT 2
and post results here.

do you actually have a cc card on that tmdi? the cc card could be on another tmdi card.

Hello, been busy with other issues so have not been able to post respones. Once in a while I still notice a "DTC003 - Clock controller can not be accessed" error message. So far our service has remained up...

For TAnselm's questions, STAT 2 shows no alarms and LCNT 2 currently shows no counts. From time to time there will be 2 or 3 so I use RCNT 2 to reset those counters to 0

For djwht's question about the having a cc card on the tmdi card, if I do then its on both because I swapped them and did not move the cc card from one to the other. We have 2 tmdi cards one in slot 2 and one in slot 3. As far as I can tell there is no config for the card in slot 3 (loop 3)

Thanks again for your tips

If your clock controller is on card 3, you are going to have to disable the DCH in ld 96, disable the loop in 60, disable the tmdi in ld 48. Remove the both cards and move the clock controller daughter board to the the card in slot 2. Then you are going to have to do the above in reverse order.

LD 48 ENL TMDI FDL
LD 60 ENLL 2 (enabling the loop should automatically enable the DCH you disabled in ld 96)
You may also have to enter (in ld 60) ENL CC 2

Why did you swap the cards?

Swap them back the way they were.
