We are into 2007 but I wanted to know what is that value and quantities of inventory i had on 12/31/06. Is there any simple way to do this in GP?

I was thinking of taking current inventory and adding the sales and substracting the receiveing from start of year to come to this value. Pls advise best way to achieve this. Thanks Hamza

If anything can go wrong, it WILL.

Run historical stock status report as on 12/31/6. I think report would give you what you want

Thanks SWA, is there any way to get the unitcosts of the items at that time. we keep changing the unit costs and i wanted to know what the unitcost of the items were at that time. Thanks

Also wanted to know if there is any way to get these values in a table or excel format and not a report so I can play around with the data. Thanks

unit costs are not tracked historically.

what I do is keep a hard and soft copy of inventory value at each month end so that if I have to, I can go back to the report and manipulate it from saved data. I've modified my report so that it exports nicely to excel.
