This is driving me nuts. I have run every spyware known to the IT world, scoured my registry and running process with nothing found and i dont know what else to do.

I only see this for IE not Mozilla. when i go to any page assocated with Yahoo, it takes forever to load and when it does the formatting is all messed up. And i can not connect to foxnews.com at all.

any ideas????

let me guess your on a dial-up connection, and yahoo pages generally have a lot of traffic and the more people on a site it takes longer to get on that page and when it takes a long time for a page to load some info gets timed out cause it took so long so it gets messed up(ever noticed that problem doesn't happen much when the page loads instantly)same thing with the foxnews site, takes so long it cancels the action.
try changing the access # that your modem dials when you login cause if your using a popular access # that can slow things down too

no and yes. this is happening with a T-1 connection at work and is happening with other users (found that out last week). so it must be something within out network settings. the odd thing is it does not happen all the time.

It could be that there is some faulty switch onsite that is causing this. You may want to get some diagnostics on your networking hardware.

It could be that someone is performing a DDoS attack against your IP range (or some kind of attack that has a similar result). You may want to check some traffic logs.

It could be that all the computers on your network are infected with some kind of trojan or malware and the subsequent attempts to visit those web addresses triggers some adverse side-effect. You would be advised to scan your computers with some of the tools available (free and commercial) to detect and remove such software.

It could be that there is a problem with your ISP's network that is causing this (maybe some faulty hardware that they are not aware of -- yet). You should confirm with your ISP that this problem is not being experienced by either them or any their other customers.

As you can see... the list is getting longer and longer. There are a million and one possibilities. You need to start methodically identifying and then testing each hypothesis in an attempt to resolve it.

I have no problems accessing those sites from my network -- so the problem is (most likely) at your end of things.

Cheers,
Jeff
