I'm running MS Exchange 2003 on a Win 2K3 box. All of my outgoing mail is delivered successfully accept messages sent to recipients @yahoo.com.

When I look at the server queues in the system manager, I can see one for SMTP mail to yahoo.com. When this queue is selected, the Additional Information box reads: "The remote server did not respond to a connection attempt."

My reverse DNS PTR record for my server's IP matches the server's name. How do I go about figuring out why yahoo.com's mail servers are rejecting my connection?

Thanks,
Jim

Try doing an "nslookup" from the mail server. If you can't resolve the "MX" records, you probably have the EDNS issue associated with Windows 2003 DNS and PIX firewalls.

There's about a dozen threads in the Tek-Tips forums regarding this.
