hi gang...

i have a 'sales group' who are all on multicall lines.

when calls come in the incoming call pop-up works fine as it gives them all the opportunity to answer a call.. but when one particular ext answers the call everyone else in the multicall group gets the pleasure of viewing their in-call communication pop up window stating the incoming number followed by (from ext)

eg: '01234 456789 (from xxx)'

have several users that want to kill me... anyway around this please?

Multicalls are not supported with YA and YA Lite.
A YA version with support is coming soon i hear.

We may need more details of your install, but, I have Lite 3.0.9 on a 7.0.9.5 system. I have a multicall on 5 phones, there is no physical device associated to the multicall. YA monitors the sets which are all single lines. When the multicall is called and answered, it does not exhibt your behaviour.
Here's the big BUT though, when the multicall is called, it does not trigger a pop up on *any* of the clients, meaning, they *must* answer with their line key, not the client.
If your multicall is also a physical device that is being monitored by MiTAi, that may be the reason you are experiencing what you are. Hope that's sort of clear.

I have experienced the same problem when the YA first came out, would be fantastic if this was fixed in a future release?

YA does support Mulitcalls in Rls 4.0. There is a 3.x.x load out there that does support multicalls, but it does not say that in the manuals. I'll look and see what I can find tomorrow.

i have Lite 3.0.9 on a 6.1.7.11_5 system. (haven't moved to 7 as awaiting 7.1)

have kind of solved the problem by unchecking 'display communication window upon answering a call' - users can control the call/hang up by using the call icon in the comms window.

tinking of moving to LBG/LCS anyway so it's only a stop-gap.

miteltech and gang

thanks for your help on this... i installed a couple of wireless headsets this morning and the multicall went haywire!

solved solution by stopping screen pops on call answer and making users answer calls by pressing multicall line key

thanks for all your suggestions - can't wait till true multicall support is launched

(the below may not relate to 'Lite')

YA 3.1.2.14 appears to support Multicall to some degree, in that under
Tools, Configuration, Screen Pop, it has options for controlling 'Screen Pop' and 'Comm Window' for: Phone, Answer, Dial
for each line configured.

YA 3.0.9 does not have this.

YA 3.2(0.71) was released today, 1st September 2006, and it lists as a new feature:

Multiline Appearance and Basic Multicall
YA supports both multiline and single line types.

With YA supporting Multiline Appearance and Basic Multicall, the user can take full advantage of their Softphone line configuration.

Single line:
The extension number appears only on one set.

Multicall line:
The extension number appears on multiple sets, and if one line appearance is in use, all other appearances of the line are idle. When a call is placed on Hold, only the originating set can retrieve the call. When a call is directed to the number associated with the Multicall group, all idle sets in the group will receive the indication. Once a set answers the call, all other idle sets in the group will still have access to the line either to answer or originate calls.

Multicall support allows a user that has both a Deskphone and a Softphone to have a line appearance of their Deskphone primary number programmed on their Softphone. This allows you to distribute one number, your Desk phone primary number, and answer incoming calls to this number via both your Desk phone and Softphone.

Regards, Neil.
