I am trying to use the verify backup command with Procomm after a successful XBK command. The file will begin to send and looks good. Then I don't even get 1% into trasfering the file to the switch when Procomm disconnects my connection. I've tried this with multiple sites and I get the same results. Is there an additional setting that needs to be adjusted within procomm.

Thanks.

If you have a smart modem (some kind of SEB) between you and the PBX, the SEB might be intercepting some characters for use in menu commands. As I recall, the Teltronics uses ^[A (CTRL-[, A) to return to the SEB menu.

I've frequently encountered SEBs programmed to allow returning to the menu disallow uploading files. If you are using a SEB, you need to get your vendor to program the SEB to go transparant to port X (whatever port you're using) immediately after you enter the SEB password. If it presents you with a menu after connecting to the SEB, it's not properly programmed.

that's a true statement when you need transparent mode.. system wide we set seb's up with the menu for almost apps.. one good reason is to use the second port..

another work around is to dial into the core modem.. or any us robotics.. and you also right about the crtl back-bracket A to return to the seb menu, then x to hangup.. i am not a fan of seb's, they tend to cause scripting problems as well.

I always use
VT100 Xmodem N 8 1

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

I am clicking on send file and it starts but it only gets to about 1000bytes and then hangs up on me.

I get no menu with my secure modem. I do log into a secure modem, then I am able to log into the phone switch. Are you saying that when the file transfer starts the modem thinks its recieving a modem menu command of some sort?

I tried comtechau's script and it does the same thing. About 1000bytes and then procomm hangs up.

I have a switch with just a robotics modem so I'll try that switch. Then if that doesn't work maybe a reinstall of Procomm.

Thanks for the responses.

Make sure the "Send file" in procomm is using Xmodem protocol with "CRC" (not BBS or HOST)

I am unable to find the CRC setting that you speak of.

Sometimes it is listed as XMODEM CRC. I use Reflections and it has several settings under Xmodem.

If you don't get a menu on your secure modem, then you are not going to have any characters intercepted/interpreted by the secure modem. Everything is a transparant pass-through.

On an option 11 I believe that the modem needs to be connected to tty 0 port.

Well here's what I've learned. I took the modem out of the equation and connected my laptop to the same tty port the modem was on, the XVR works just fine. So something is up with this modem I have.

My modem is a Datalink DL150, so the good news is its now my vendor's problem. :)

Thanks for the help and suggestions.

You also took the modem in your PC out of the equation, so it may not be the Datalink DL150 or it may be a combination of them both. Did you try using an external modem on the PC?

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Yup, same problem on another laptop. Also the vendor has confirmed they are having the same exact problem. I found similar problems other people are having with this modem. The vendor is looking into the problem, hopefully they will have an answer.
