Hi there everybody,

I am using kde3 on debian on a HP laptop.
All is well except that when i boot into X the screen position is slightly off (my top align bar is only half on screen).

Using XVIDTUNE i can sort this out, but even if i run xvidtune as root, it doesnt remember the settings when i next login.

Any idea how i can get it to keep the settings?

Install the nvidia display drivers if you haven't done so already. This will usually align it correctly.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

But i dont have the an nvidia graphics card, it is an ati mobility thing.

I'll look into it though, thanks

xvidtune is not MEANT to remember anything. what it is designed to do is allow you to manipulate the frequencies and then generate X11 modelines (dumped to stdout) for these specific settings for YOU to add to your XF86config file, in the correct display section.
