Hi all - I decided to turn off "Simple File Sharing" (in folders->folder options->view, of all the places on earth!), and am stuck with an anomaly, and your help is most appreciated.
If a user tries to share a file over the network, but the user does not have an account on the machine, it appears that XPP is refusing access ("access denied"), unless "Everyone" is allowed in the permissions list for that file.
Now the user may have an account on the machine with a different name. So XPP should be asking the user to enter login name and password, and authenticate the access as a locally defined user. But it is not doing that.
How can I force XPP to authenticate an access based on a locally already defined user, and not based on the name coming over the network? All help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

more detail:
Machine A is XPP and user AU has account.
Machine B is XPP and user BU has account.
FIle AF on A has AU on permissions list, both for sharing and security, but Everyone is removed from the lists.
BU on B is trying to access AF. BU has password for AU.
BU wants to be authenticated on A as AU.
But XPP does not request a login. XPP rejects the access to AF by BU as "Access Denied".
