I have an 81c switch and I am having problems with xpec error #0001 at a remote site.

I have had problems with phones at this location when it rains. It dosn't appear to be affecting phones at this time. Were should I start?

you've got a bad controller or network card according to nortel. but, it happens most during bad weather? check your grounds.. that is the most common problem i see that re-occurs during climate change..

I am not sure were the network card is for this loop? I do not find a network card. Thus is attached with a carrier card. We typically get carrier errors but never xpec000. Is there definately a network card associated to this if it is remote requipment?

Yes, a remote carrier is the network card in this instance. Have you tried disabling the controller and reseating it? Try that and then follow the advice of johnpoole and bigindian65..... all good ideas!

How do Identify the controller card for this loop?

ld 97

req: prt
type: xpe
xpec: return

this will print all controllers. Look for the one with loop 36 to the right, the left number is the controller

Thanks. I receeded the carrier card and the erros went away.

Can you tell me how to stat carriers and disable and enable them?

try that in LD32, just stat the loop... post if you'd like. you should see 21 TTSA, 0 CALs etc....
