XP wont load 2

Built new system everything recognised.
Duron 1300
512mb crucial ram
Pc Chips board

Boot from cd windows XP loads then comes up with blue screen.
Windows protection error
driver-irql-not-less-or-equal
usbport.sys-address
error code

tried to disable usb in bios still comes up with error.
Does not seem anyway to reallocate irq address
PC chips dont seem to advocate flashing the bios
another dodgy board
can anyone help
 
Unplug any periferal devices, remove unnecessary addon cards, take back to bare minimum connected, set bios to low performing failsafe defaults, NOW TRY.

If you still have a problem replace the memory with a single good module.

IMHO this is nearly always a memory problem, but can be caused by a faulty hard drive. I think you should run memtest86 (google for it) before you start loading XP.

Posts ok but memtest showed it to be very faulty.
Buying some kingston as we speak.
 
Its not always the memory itsleft that's faulty. It can be the incorrect kind for your mobo - or - the clocking can be wrong. You may need to check your wait states, clock cycles etc. (set in the BIOS). If you have no data on the correct settings then having noted what they all are at the moment (A digital camera comes in handy at this point!) try increasing wait/refresh cycles etc.
