XP Taskbar Not Locking Height

I have asked this before, but does anyone know why my
taskbar 'shrinks' sometimes in XP.

I have it locked, and generally keep it two icons high, with a vertical split between the quick launch area and the tray showing whats running.

Sometimes when I boot, the taskbar reduces itself to one icon high - but the 'lock the taskbar' remains ticked!

Thank you for replying...

No domain, (in fairness I should have said XP Home - but I
forget from time to time).

It bugs me that's all - maybe I'm the only person with XPh that uses a double height taskbar...
