Apparently XP SP3 causes some machines with AMD CPUs to endlessly reboot. See this Computer World article for more info.

can't confirm that one... SP3 went on smooth on my AMD Athlon XP on an ASUS A7N8X (not the Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe) motherboard...

but thanks for the heads-up there nonetheless... will come in handy for those who may experience what is written in the article...

Yes, it's important to remember that the article only mentions specific cases where the system builders made mistakes (HP was loading Intel's drivers on AMD boards). Personally I've been running an AMD CPU on an Asus board without a problem ever since the first RC.
