We have a brand new Micron T2300 with an Intel 2915 ABG network card, with the latest drivers and using the Intel ProSet utility. The OS is Win XP SP2. I can connect, and pull an ip address from any of our WEP access points, but can only connect (and get a good, strong connection) but cannot pull an ip from our open access point/router we keep for visitor use, which is segregated from our intranet. All my Win 2K wireless clients connect to the open access point just fine, and pull an ip like they're supposed to. There seems to be an issue with XP SP2, according to what I've read, and I've tried all the remedies and patches to no avail. Any help?

Thanks

My XP SP2 machine has SP2 and the WPA2 update but I have never had any issues connecting to Open access points. I use the XP built-in wireless support though as I prefer this over the Intel one.
Is it possible you have both the XP Wireless Support enabled as well as the Intel one?

No, XP won't let you use both at the same time. Thanks
