any help most appricated

chrisazzi,

That is a completely different issue than what is becing discussed here.

The solution to that problem can be found in Group Policies, under the Administrative Templates for the Local computer. You want to disable synchronous logon and enable asynchronous logon when the network is ready.

chrisazzi,

Here, I had to look it up:

Using Gpedit.msc, go to Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, System, Logon, and Enable the policy to "Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon"

I have gone to that section of the gpedit.msc, but the always wait for the network at computer startup and logon' isnot there..

But i did do this.
Disable synchronous logon and enable asynchronous logon when the network is ready.

Sounds good.

One other thing to watch out for is that some network adapters, (USB, some wireless) essentially need to run a client service to monitor and create the connection.

This can cause a permissions issue with non-Administrator users as the first logon.

I really appreciate your help..

I tested it this morning and all looks fine. I hope it continues like this..

THanks HEAPS
Chris

Now they are getting a problem with outlook not responding... this is doing my head in.

chris,

And this thread is getting way off topic.

Please start a new topic about the Outlook question.

It will save my finger from scrolling, and I promise a response.

Best.
Bill
