Good Morning All,

We have a long-standing database which has been updated from time to time. The most recent mod has been to upgrade our PCs to XP with SP2 and from Smartsuite Millennium edition to v9.8.

Since doing this, we cannot skip from one record to the next when trying to view. The smallest mouse click or keyboard press results in skipping several records.

The only effective method is to narrow the search criteria to isolate 1 record. The other method is guesswork, with clicks of the right length to jump several records to the record we want.

This happens on all our PCs.

Any comments?

You can work around this issue in one of two ways. You can change your Keyboard Delay setting to anything other than the shortest (zero), or you can use the Page Up and Page Down keys on the keyboard to scroll through the records.

CHANGING THE KEYBOARD DELAY SETTING

1. From the Windows Taskbar, choose Start, Settings, Control Panel.

2. Double-click the Keyboard icon.

3. On the Speed tab, in the Character Repeat panel, drag the slider bar for Repeat Delay at least one position to the left (towards "Long").

4. Click Apply

5. Click OK.

Thanks Sue,

I have just had the chance to mod the keyboard settings and the effect is miraculous!
Such a simple remedy to cure a year or so of frustration.
